Zinc Coatings:

• The four weights of zinc coatings are: Class 1, and Classes A, B, and C.

• Minimum weights of zinc coatings are specified.

• The base metal (steel) must meet quality and purity requirements.

• Finished strands and individual wires must meet prescribed properties.

• Joints in the wires are either brazed-lap or electric-butt-welded and coated with zinc for corrosion protection.
